Nov 15-16 2019 course session 8am-6pm, Nov 17, 8am-4pm This LIVE course includes traditional Powerpoint presentations, LIVE question and answer sessions with the instructor, and a LIVE Lab demonstration and treatment. This course is designed to review the history, risks and benefits, safety precautions, and side effects of dry needling. Participants will practice palpation skills, review shoulder and cervical and thoracic spine anatomy, and perform the dry needling technique with provided protocols in a safe manner. Course Objectives: Review the history of dry needling. Understand the risks and benefits of dry needling. Review shoulder, cervical, and thoracic spine anatomy. Practice dry needling protocols for shoulder, cervical, and thoracic spine. Complete the dry needling post-test. Pass the dry needling practical exam. * Course objectives measured by a 20 question written post-test. Dress: Therapists should dress for participation in Lab portions of the training; shorts and a t-shirt that can be removed for males and shorts, sports bras and tank tops for women. A fleece and or sweat pants may be desired to remain comfortable during classroom sessions. The Illinois Chapter Continuing Education Committee has approved this course according to the Criteria for Approval of Continuing Education offerings established by the Illinois Physical Therapy Association. This course content is not intended for use by any participant outside the scope of their license regulation
