Jefferson County Pet Sheltering Tabletop Exercise (TTX)

Are we prepared to take care of our pets in time of disaster? During this discussion based exercise, we will walk through a disaster scenario which will make homes uninhabitable requiring sheltering of residents, which will in turn necessitate pet sheltering, caring for the pets of the community during the response and starting the recovery phase of the event.  We will discuss existing and needed capabilities, resources, and capacities We will we discuss things like how your county defines pets, where will pets be sheltered, what resources are available, identify needed resources, how and if donations will be managed (as they relate to pets).  This is an opportunity to exercise existing local plans or improve existing plans.
